Hi, I’m Dr. Jennifer Taylor, a veterinarian here at Lake Community Pet Clinic. I’ve always enjoyed learning about animals, but what drew me into veterinary medicine was discovering how much I enjoy teaching people about them. Helping pet owners better understand their animals and how to care for them is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do!
I earned my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009 and also completed a Master's degree in Molecular Virology during my time at Virginia Tech. My academic background gave me a strong foundation in both clinical care and research, which I bring into my daily work with my pet patients and their parents.
In addition to general veterinary practice, I have certifications as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist and a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist. These additional qualifications allow me to provide non-invasive treatments, like acupuncture, that improve comfort, mobility, and quality of life for pets and help patients who suffer from orthopedic or neurologic diseases.
I ride dressage, raise and show dairy goats, and enjoy dog training and gardening!
